Our client, a successful and modern accountancy practice, is seeking a Senior Accountant or Management Accountant to join their growing organisation. In this role you will be working in a friendly and fast-paced environment overseeing a team of Management Accountants / Bookkeepers The ideal individual will have previously worked within a practice environment and have strong interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and have experience of managing a small team. Circa £45,000 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increase by 1 day per year) Study support Life assurance x 4 salary Cycle-to-work scheme Health scheme Gym membership On-site parking Hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days from home) after a successful training period 37.5 hour working week 8am-4pm OR 8.30am-4.30pm OR 9am-5pm Role responsibilities: Supervise and mentor a team of 5 (Management Accountants / Bookkeepers) including completion of PDP’s Allocate client work effectively, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met Provide technical guidance and support to staff Ensure smooth transition and integration of new clients into the practice workstreams Prepare and review complex management accounts, including group consolidations Deliver cash flow forecasts and budgeting models tailored to client needs as and when required Review and sign off VAT returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy Step in to cover management accounts and bookkeeping duties during staff absences Maintain high standards of service continuity and client satisfaction Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements Identify process improvements and contribute to practice development Skills and Experience Required: ACCA/ CIMA qualified (or equivalent) Practice experience desirable, with experience of leading and developing a team Client focused with an initiative-taking approach to problem solving Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, and management reporting Experience in software packages (Xero, Dext, Telleroo, Fathom and Excel) desirable Experience with group consolidations and forecasting tools is highly desirable
