What is the job role?
In this role you will be dealing with customers, stakeholders & outside organisations, you will help to collect more than £ million of Council revenue. This is a fast-paced team with tight deadlines and targets to meet each week.
1. You will be responsible for dealing with the recovery of a wide range of invoices covering a wide range of services provided by the City Council.
2. You will help the Council to achieve its collection targets and maximise resources to fund the vital services for local residents.
3. You will instigate robust debt recovery practices whilst being sensitive to the needs of our vulnerable residents.
4. You will work to procedures and policies designed for the team.
At present staff are working from home but the role is usually based in our offices at Friargate and you will form part of a dynamic and motivated Corporate Income Team.
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
Someone who has a passion for customer care.
Someone who can prioritise and organise a workload, work under pressure and manage priorities with minimum supervision using their initiative.
5. You will have excellent customer service, communication and negotiation skills, face-to-face and over the phone.
6. Any experience you have had with dealing with debt
7. You will need to be target-driven and capable of managing your workload and conflicting priorities.
8. You will have the confidence to deal with a range of different customers and make appropriate recovery decisions based on the current circumstances of each case.
