The Role
As General Manager, youll be responsible for the day-to-day operations and the long-term vision of the inn. Youll manage the team, ensure outstanding guest experiences, and work closely with the community board to help shape our future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and inspire a small team across front-of-house, kitchen, and housekeeping
* Ensure excellent customer service and warm, personalised hospitality
* Oversee bookings, room occupancy, and restaurant/bar performance
* Maintain high standards in cleanliness, food safety, and compliance
* Build relationships with local suppliers and producers
* Manage budgets, stock, and financial reporting
* Collaborate on marketing, events, and community engagement
* Help bring the community shop vision to life, contributing ideas and operational support
About You
* Proven hospitality management experience
* Strong leadership with a hands-on, can-do attitude
* Passion about community values, sustainability, and local produce
* Confident with budgets, technology, staff rotas, and service standards
* Creative thinker, excited about growing and evolving a beloved rural business
