The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced History/RE specialist to join a secondary school on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys teaching students aged 11–16. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, ensuring students achieve excellent outcomes while developing their critical thinking, historical understanding, and ethical awareness.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated History and RE lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
*
Teach across multiple year groups, including Key Stages 3 & 4.
*
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
*
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to support learning.
*
Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment.
*
Contribute to curriculum planning, resources, and departmental initiatives.
*
Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as appropriate.
*
Support school ethos and contribute to the wider educational experience of students.
Person Specification:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in History, RE, or a closely related subject.
*
Proven experience teaching History and RE in a secondary school setting.
*
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students across all abilities.
*
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
*
Ability to plan and deliver lessons that are both challenging and inclusive.
*
Commitment to professional development and reflective practice.
