Applications are welcome for Cardiology Trust Junior Doctor (SHO grade), to commence as early as 5th August 2026. We have a busy 42 bedded cardiology ward and a 8 bedded Coronary Care Unit in Northwick Park Hospital. The post holders will be expected to provide cover to the unit and support the registrars and consultants in Cardiology. It is an excellent opportunity to gain/develop experience in Cardiology. Our aim is to provide a continuum of care spanning the acute District General Hospitals, and the necessary medical, social and therapies provision to promote maximal independence of people living with health conditions and diseases in the community. The appointee will generally be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the Cardiology department under direct supervision of a registrar and consultant. It will also give you the opportunity to get involved in audits and presenting at clinical governance meetings to expose you to the wider teams and other specialties. All candidates should be eligible for registration with the GMC.
MBBS (or equivalent), Full registration with GMC and prior experience working in the NHS (UK) are essential. Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that the candidate provides written confirmation and attaches this to their application.

Job responsibilities
The Trust is recruiting to a fixed term Junior Doctor post in Cardiology for one year with a view to either extend further in cardiology or rotate into other specialties on a block basis. While not an accredited Core Medical Training post, this will be very much a training post with full educational and clinical supervision. The successful candidate will be enrolled onto the Royal College of Physicians e-Portfolio and be entitled to study leave. We hope this post will be attractive to both those pre and post CMT or ACCS. Trainees will be expected to progress through MRCP (or FRCA) examinations as required (PACES teaching will be provided).
