About the Role
We are seeking an experienced 3rd Line Engineer to join our London-based IT team. This role focuses on resolving complex technical issues, supporting enterprise infrastructure, and providing escalation support for 1st and 2nd line teams.
The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, and cloud technologies, with the ability to manage high-priority incidents and contribute to infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced 3rd line technical support for infrastructure and end-user systems
Act as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support teams
Support and maintain Windows Server environments
Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user permissions
Troubleshoot networking issues (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)
Support virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
Lead root cause analysis and major incident resolution
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and projects
Maintain technical documentation and system diagrams
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in IT Support / Infrastructure roles
Strong expertise in Windows Server administration
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, firewalls)
Experience with virtualisation technologies
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to manage complex incidents independently
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
Microsoft or cloud certifications
Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
Exposure to security best practices
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell)
Experience working within ITIL frameworks
