Offer description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate OPD specialising in Endoscopy (Related experience considered) to join our client’s healthcare team on permanent basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during endoscopic procedures. This position requires a good understanding of this service and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Job Type: Permanent Contract

Hours of Work: Full time (5 days) or Part Time (2.5 days per week) both considered (38 hours a week FTE) - Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00

Salary range: £33,592 to £37,544 per annum

Duties

1. Deliver Safe, Evidence-Based Care: Provide high-quality, patient-focused care in a diagnostic Endoscopy Unit, adhering to local and national standards (e.g., JAG).
2. Clinical Procedure Support: Assist with endoscopic procedures and the decontamination of equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
3. Care Planning & Accountability: Assess, plan, implement care, and maintain autonomous practice responsibility.
4. Leadership Support: Take charge of the unit in the absence of the Lead Nurse, offering clinical guidance and ensuring use of evidence-based practices.
5. Quality Improvement: Promote continuous improvement by evaluating care standards and leading changes in nursing development.
6. Professional Development: Maintain personal skills, knowledge, and a professional portfolio in line with HCPC revalidation.
7. Policy Development: Contribute to creating and reviewing nursing care pathways, infection control policies, and unit strategies under the Lead Nurse's guidance.
8. Health & Safety: Assist in implementing and reviewing health, safety, and security procedures for staff and patients.
9. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate clinical records, manage medical supplies, support cross-site services, and participate in unit meetings.

Experience

Essential

10. HCPC registered ODP
11. Excellent communication and influencing skills
12. Basic IT skills and ability to work with online programmes
13. Good time management skills

Desirable

14. To be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience),
15. Knowledge of working within endoscopy unit
16. To have Preparation for mentorship course (ENB998) or equivalent
