We are now seeking a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Southwark service—an opportunity to play a key role in delivering clinically led, person-centred interventions within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. About the role As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will provide specialist clinical interventions to individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol use, supporting them through their treatment and recovery journey. Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, you will: Deliver high-quality clinical assessments and interventions Support individuals through detoxification, prescribing and recovery pathways Contribute to the development of safe, effective and responsive clinical services Manage risk and promote harm reduction and recovery-focused care Work closely with partner agencies to ensure joined-up, holistic support This is a role where clinical expertise meets compassion—where your work will directly improve outcomes and support long-term recovery. Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Allowance: £4133.14 Inner London Weighting, pro rata for part time Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months *Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. Salary is subject to review in line with the 2025/26 pay award Responsibilities The Substance Misuse Nurse role is a varied one, the successful candidate will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, offering specialist clinical interventions to people who use our services. In our services no two days are the same. Every person who comes into our service is treated as an individual, so understanding the importance of a whole person approach along with being curious, a good listener, a clinically robust practitioner and having a flexible approach are essential skills. Who we’re looking for You are an experienced and motivated nurse who brings both clinical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. You will be: A qualified nurse with relevant registration (NMC) Experienced in or passionate about substance misuse and recovery-focused care Confident in delivering clinical interventions and managing risk A strong communicator, able to engage effectively with service users and colleagues Committed to working in a collaborative, multi-agency environment Our approach We are building services that are: Built on evidence and compassion Rooted in communities Designed to support sustainable, long-term recovery Ready to make an impact? We want to support you to recognise and achieve your goals: We hold regular national nurse and HCA forums, and you will have regular 1:1s and appraisals We actively support our nurses with revalidation with protected continuing professional development time, which totals up to 6 days per year. We also have a wide range of educational opportunities including free access to the RCNi learning platform and we pay for your NMC fee We offer you the opportunity to use the government backed Apprenticeship Levy fund to develop nursing practice in line with your specific role All our team members are encouraged to take a wellbeing hour every week and access personal well -being resources Our nursing pay is competitive with the NHS Agenda for Change pay bands.
