We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance / Payroll Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established secondary school setting across Croydon. This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week role, ideal for a professional with strong school-based finance experience who is looking to further develop their career within education.
The Role You will play a key role in supporting the school's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across finance and payroll processes. Working as part of a supportive administrative team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the school's financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate staff payments
* Supporting day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, reconciliations, and budgeting support
* Maintaining financial records in line with school and local authority requirements
* Assisting with audits and financial reporting
* Liaising with staff, external providers, and senior leadership where required
Requirements
* Proven experience working in school-based finance is essential
* Strong knowledge of payroll processes and financial systems
* A relevant degree is preferred
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
