Purpose of the role
The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the weighbridge function and the coordination of transport plans. Additionally, it includes the efficient management of available resources at the sites and depots falling within their jurisdiction.
Key Activities
1. Processing of vehicles and resources on a daily basis.
2. Maintaining relevant database records for all resource requirements.
3. Ensuring that the centralised transport plan is satisfied.
4. Ensuring drivers work according to instructions and procedures as detailed in the drivers folder.
5. Day-to-day management of drivers.
6. Liaising and communicating with other departments including maintenance facilities, works, and the central planning office.
7. Maintaining good industrial relations, including disciplinary procedures and actions.
8. Ensuring that company vehicles are kept in a clean condition inside and out.
9. Carrying out any required site inductions.
10. Following all IMS procedures related to work activities.
11. Recording and investigating customer complaints.
12. Analyzing all drivers’ tachographs.
Job Requirements
1. Knowledge of transport legislation.
2. Ability to manage a team of drivers.
3. Computer literacy.
4. Ability to prioritize and make decisions with discretion.
5. Good communication skills and being a team player at all levels.
6. Flexibility and commitment.
7. Knowledge of inert waste reception.
