Job Description
* Overseeing the accounting and financial reporting of capital projects, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
* Managing the fixed asset register and supporting processes for capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals
* Working closely with operational teams to track and report on capital expenditure against budget
* Supporting year-end and audit requirements related to capital and asset accounting
* Reviewing and enhancing capital accounting controls and procedures
* Providing clear and insightful financial information to support decision-making and project delivery
The Successful Applicant
A successful Interim Capital Accountant should have:
* A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong capital accounting experience
* A sound understanding of accounting for capital projects and fixed assets, ideally gained in environments with significant property or infrastructure portfolios
* Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems (e.g. SUN, Oracle, or similar)
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across finance and operational teams
* Ideally, previous experience in Estates, Property, Construction or Housing Association
