We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time Occupational Therapist to join our established therapy team and work on our adult acute inpatient wards. This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in this in-patient service as it progresses through development with several initiatives such as Culture of Care and Home First among others. You will receive regular supervision, have CPD opportunities, join the band 5 support group/network and contribute to the development and progress of this supportive team and working environment.
Job responsibilities
* To provide an occupational therapy service to inpatients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital and community settings and on home visits
* To maintain clinical records
* To develop skills and knowledge through participation in preceptorship and PDR
Key duties and professional practice
Domain/Duties/Responsibilities include clinical work: undertake occupational therapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits, enabling the client in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure; identify OT goals as part of the overall care plan; plan and implement individual and/or group interventions using graded activity; monitor and evaluate treatment to measure progress and ensure effectiveness. Communication, documentation, professional ethics, leadership supervision & appraisal, training staff & students, service development & delivery, professional development, clinical governance, quality standards, self and resource management and research & practice development are encompassed within the role.

Person specification
Essential qualifications: Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy.

Experience: participation in continuing professional development; current and previous work experience relevant to the post.
