You will be joining a busy Major Projects team within a respected public sector organisation responsible for delivering high‑profile regeneration and development initiatives, including the City Deal Programme and the regeneration of St Patrick’s Barracks. The team operates across multiple sites and works collaboratively with internal departments, external stakeholders,ernment bodies andmunity groups to deliver effective, high‑quality services.
Your new role
As Business Support Officer, you will provide professional, wide‑ranging administrative support to the Major Projects team. Working in a fast‑paced environment, you will ensure day‑to‑day administrative tasks arepleted efficiently, accurately and to a high standard. Key duties include:
1. Handling iing emails, calls and enquiries, taking appropriate follow‑up action
2. Providing frontline support to the public,munity groups and external organisations
3. Preparing agendas, presentations, reports and other project materials
4. Attending meetings to record and issue minutes
5. Organising training sessions, events and meetings, ensuring all logistics and equipment are in place
6. Managing administrative processes for invoices, purchase orders and payments
7. Assisting with production of marketing and promotional materials
8. Updating project information on the relevant Council webpages
9. Supporting the delivery of Social Value plans across projects
10. Liaising with internal departments,ernment bodies and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery
This is a temporary post for 3 months, based in either Carrickfergus or Ballymena (location agreed with the successful candidate). Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet service needs.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need:
11. 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent
12. At least one year’s relevant Business Support experience in a busy office environment, including: Usingputerised information management systemsProviding frontline customer serviceManaging high volumes of work and prioritising effectively
13. A qualification demonstratingpetent word processing/database skills or one year’s experience using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel in particular)
14. Strong skills across MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
15. Excellent organisation,munication and customer service skills
16. The ability to work proactively, meet deadlines and support multiple projects simultaneously
Candidates without the listed GCSEs may also be considered if they can demonstrate three years’ relevant experience meeting the above criteria.
