An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Community Paediatric Secretarial team based within Hafan Y Mor, Singleton Hospital.
The successful post holder will become part of an established team, helping to provide high quality administration service to patients and service users. The post holder will act as a key liaison between families, external stakeholders and clinical staff. They will type up any resulting medical reports as well as support the consultants, and other health professionals working in the team, supporting diary management, co-ordination of workload and of appointments and attendance related information for patients and carers.
The post holder must possess excellent communication and organisational skills to provide an excellent secretarial service to the clinical team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive, high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the Department, team and specialist teams, will provide an expert administration service to the clinical specialty and its associated work streams.
The post holder will process documents accurately and efficiently using digital dictation, analogue dictation and as directed by the clinician and will demonstrate self-directed development and practice of patient administrative systems, whilst undertaking tasks that will require the individual to exercise judgement and expertise.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Educated to vocational level 4 or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge skills and experiences
2. RSA /OCR level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience plus Medical Terminology ECDL or equivalent experience
3. Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft office applications
4. Evidence of Continual Personal Development

5. City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Level 3 Diploma in Medical administration
6. NVQ 3 Customer Service
7. ILM Level 2
8. NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training
9. ESR self-serve(or equivalent experience of application)
