Job Title: Autonomous Vehicle Application Field Engineer

Company: Richmond Design & Marketing Limited (t/a Aurrigo)

Team: Operations

Reports to: Site Manager

Location: Teesside Airport, Darlington, UK

Hours: Full-time

Salary: Competitive

About the role

Aurrigo is a leading international provider of smart airside solutions and automotive products and designs, builds and deploys autonomous vehicles in the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America. Aurrigo deploy autonomous vehicles in real-world environments and specialise in first and last mile transportation of goods, cargo and people with a focus on the aviation industry and city streets.

We’re looking for talented newly qualified, mid-career, and experienced engineers, computer scientists, and technologists to join our operations team as Autonomous Vehicle Application Engineers at our North East Tech Centre based at Teesside Airport, reporting to the Site Manager. You’ll primarily be working at the test area landside and in the secure area airside (after security search) and supporting the company on some of our non-aviation projects e.g. on public city streets or private land such as leisure facilities.

You’ll use your skills to diagnose problems, create new processes, solve customer issues in diverse fields such as electrical, electronic, software, mechanical, and process engineering. If you think you’ve got what it takes to work with autonomous vehicles in the fast-moving aviation industry, we want to hear from you.

Aurrigo is based in Coventry, and whilst most of your time will be in Teesside, you’ll spend some time at the Coventry HQ and supporting other deployments in the UK or Europe, and on occasion at our deployments further afield such as Singapore or the USA. The job will demand occasional travel and would largely be between Monday and Friday, but for long haul destinations such as the USA or Asia, we might ask for up to two weeks. All travel and accommodation are fully paid, along with all expenses, and in line with current policies, a deployment bonus is available depending on the deployment location and length of deployment, this will be explained at interview and as part of any offer letter. You’ll work full time which could include early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work.

You will be fully trained to operate the latest in autonomous vehicle technology, including our autonomous pods, shuttles, and the aviation equipment which is where you’ll spend most of your time.
