Overview
Business and Digital Support Placement (12.5 months) at Airbus. Start date: 17 August 2026. Location: Broughton, North Wales. Duration: 12.5 months. Employment Type: Internship. Experience Level: Student.
What you will be doing
You will delve into the Tooling and Metrology world within Airbus, collaborating with teams to drive change and improvement. Your role will be at the heart of Wing Jig Recertification, Wing Metrology Measurements, and critical aircraft machining tasks. You will gain knowledge of all Airbus variants through our diverse operations. You will interact with team members and stakeholders, managing projects related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, Continuous Improvement, and Strategy. Activities may include:
* Strategic Thinking: contribute to long-term strategic planning, including introduction of new technologies and process improvements.
* Management Development: develop management skills through hands-on experience and shadowing opportunities.
* Project Delivery: manage and deliver multiple projects across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and Continuous Improvement.
* Data Studio KPI Development: develop dashboards for critical business KPIs to enable informed decision-making.
* SAP Integration: learn and engage with SAP systems to support operational efficiency and data management.
* Communication and Interpersonal Skills: collaborate effectively within a team and with stakeholders.
* Innovative Mindset: bring ideas to enhance processes and operations.
Your ideas and support will help define Airbus long-term strategy and enhance technologies. You will develop presentation, networking and stakeholder management skills working with different areas of the business. You will also learn about Airbus Operating Systems and Lean principles to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
Our placements are open to undergraduates only. It is mandatory to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.
* Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.
* Studying towards a degree in Business, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Appetite for improvement and bringing innovative ideas to a situation.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
* Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Willingness to learn and immerse yourself in Airbus ways of working.
* Good computer and data analysis skills.
Security Clearance: You will be subject to BPSS checks and may need UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
