Senior Projects Manager Location: Sutton in Ashfield, office basedOverview We are recruiting on behalf of a highly specialised engineering organisation for a Senior Projects Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects within a niche technical environment. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead and coordinate a small project team while acting as a key link between engineering, production, supply chain, and wider stakeholders.Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multiple large-scale, technically complex projects simultaneously
• Take ownership of project performance, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and aligned to client expectations
• Manage, mentor and coordinate a team of 2 Project Managers and 1 Project Support professional
• Rapidly assess and mobilise new projects, defining priorities, plans, and resource allocation
• Provide clear direction and oversight to ensure all projects remain on track and risks are proactively managed
• Oversee all project phases from initiation through to completion
• Coordinate closely with internal teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to ensure seamless delivery
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration across functions
• Monitor progress, budgets, risks, and reporting, implementing corrective action where required
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project governance standards

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior project or programme management role, ideally in a complex engineering or technical environment
• Strong background managing multiple high-value projects concurrently
• Experience leading and developing project teams
• Solid engineering or electrical background, with the ability to understand:
  • Engineering drawings
  • Design processes
• Excellent coordination, planning, and organisational skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working cross-functionally
• Ability to act decisively and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
• Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience

Desirable

• Knowledge or experience of NEC4 contracts
• Experience working within a highly specialised or niche engineering sector
