Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Resource Base (1:1 Support)

Daily Rate: £90 £115 (PAYE)

Looking for a long-term SEND Teaching Assistant role where you can make a real difference every day?
TeacherActive is working closely with a secondary school in Wiltshire to recruit a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their resource base provision. This long-term role involves working 1:1 with students who have additional needs, supporting both their learning and emotional development.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team that includes pastoral and teaching staff, providing tailored support for students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, and speech and language difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a SEND or care setting who is now looking to further their impact within education.
Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 support to students with SEND, primarily in Key Stages 3 and 4
* Supporting emotional regulation and encouraging positive behaviour
* Helping students access learning and develop essential life skills
* Working collaboratively with the resource base and wider school team
* Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in students
Requirements
* Experience supporting young people with SEND in a school or care environment
* Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, and other common learning needs
* A calm, proactive, and compassionate approach to support
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* An understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
