Job Advert Description
Applications are invited for the role of Intelligence Researcher, within the Analysis and Research Team of CTP (Counter Terrorism Policing) Wales.
This is a part time post for a fixed term for 12 months
This role will provide vital support to the work carried out by the Analysis and Research Team across a range of tactical, operational and strategic products. The main duties of the role will include:
Interrogation of Police systems to accurately gather data and intelligence as required. Assist in inputting data and intelligence into a range of databases and systems used within CTP Wales. Make use of appropriate techniques to gather a range of open-source data and intelligence to assist in the day to day work of CTP Wales. Provide assistance to the Analyst and Researcher team within CTP Wales through data research, data manipulation and visualisation, and assist in the production of reports and briefings as directed. Use a variety of software packages to carry out required tasks as directed.
The successful candidate will be required to handle and make use of sensitive intelligence, and as such must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/DV level.
The post will also require the successful completion of an additional security induction process, part of which requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections. It must be stressed that this is in addition to Developed Vetting or force management vetting. Candidates must achieve both clearances to take up this post.
Employment within Counter Terrorism Policing requires applicants for the role to undertake a further security induction for which British citizenship is required. Failure to hold citizenship would preclude persons for applying for these positions.
This post is a regional role and although the base is in Bridgend, there maybe a requirement to travel across the region to fulfil the role.
There will also be a requirement to provide operational support to the wider CTP Wales team as and when required, which will involve working outside normal office hours on occasion.
As part of the recruitment process for this role, there may be an assessment centre prior to any subsequent invitation to an interview.
If you wish to have a further understanding of the role please contact HR Processes - -
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC/DV Vetting.
Please note, if you are an internal candidate and subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, your appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis
