Job Description:
Our client, a leading global technology innovator, is building a new multimedia stack at its Cambridge R&D centre—focused on real-time HDR tone-mapping, colour-space conversion, and computer-vision acceleration for ARM-based Windows devices. They are seeking an inventive C/C++ engineer passionate about pixels, performance, and high-fidelity image rendering.
Responsibilities include:
* Designing and prototyping SDR → HDR rendering and image-processing algorithms
* Managing end-to-end colour management (ICC profiles, gamut mapping, gamma tuning)
* Optimising DirectX pipelines for latency, throughput, and power efficiency
* Building robust unit and integration tests to ensure colour fidelity
* Collaborating with hardware, OS, and camera-algorithm teams across the UK and Asia
Requirements:
* MSc/PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, EE, Imaging, or related fields
* Expert-level C/C++ skills on Windows; strong performance profiling and SIMD experience
* Hands-on knowledge of DirectX 11/12 (or Vulkan/Metal) and shader programming
* Experience with image/video processing or real-time computer vision
* Clear thinking, problem-solving skills, and concise technical communication
Nice-to-haves:
* Passion for photography/videography—e.g., RAW formats, grading, HDR workflows
* Contributions to open-source graphics or imaging projects
