ESPO are a public sector professional buying organisation, and we return the surplus we make to our local authority owners to invest in the public services we all rely on. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are looking for a contract support officer (CSO) to join the Catalogue Procurement team.
About the Role
As a contract support officer at ESPO, the successful candidate will be working in a busy and progressive category team liaising with suppliers in gathering financial information regarding turnover and developing and using other management information to confirm rebate / income streams relevant to the team's budget. You will manage and collate management information for meetings with suppliers and for ESPOs senior leadership team.
Other duties include analysing and manipulating management information to produce graphs and charts; supporting the team with high‑level market research; maintaining framework and supplier databases; assisting with ESPO's annual pricing exercise; providing administrative support such as preparing correspondence and presenting information; conducting and recording compliance checks on existing framework suppliers; handling price‑related queries and updating data within ESPO's ERP system; and carrying out any other relevant duties as required.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
* GCSEs A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
* Experience of working as part of a team and experience in a customer facing / supplier facing role
* Experience of customer/client relations and engagement with stakeholders
* Market analysis/data analysis/interpretation or manipulation of financial data/data presentation
* Ability to organise and prioritise a variable workload and the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and other contacts.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills including confident telephone manner. Excellent IT skills, specifically MS Office, word, Excel, PowerPoint (including but not limited to use of formulae, generation of graphs / charts etc)
Awareness of structures and relationships within local government
