Job overview
The Lead Dermatology CNS will provide clinical and professional leadership and line management to the clinical nurse team. You will provide visible leadership across a clinical service setting, monitoring, and maintaining professional high standards. The post holder needs to be an innovative and dynamic practitioner committed to improving the patient experience, improving standards of care and services, supporting the dermatology leadership team in delivering the trust longer term strategy whilst upholding the nursing, Midwifery and AHP strategy and values.
The post holder will be an integral member of the department within the Medicine division, providing support to implement and monitor progress on delivery of strategic objectives to ensure the provision of high-quality care. They will provide professional and clinical nursing advice and actively contribute to innovative solutions to quality improvement, workforce, and capacity management.
The lead nurse will support in the delivery of operational and budgetary management of nursing, quality and standards of care. They will ensure that services are delivered within allocated budgets, identifying evidence to support safe and effective service delivery and contribute to the delivery of the Division and trust financial plan.
We are looking for applicants who already have a clear understanding and knowledge of dermatology / skin cancer and have the potential and willingness to further enhance their skills in this speciality.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist dermatology nursing care to patients and their families, and act as a resource for other professionals. This is achieved by skills and experience and expert knowledge gained through additional specialist training. Working with the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies, the post holder will play a key role on ongoing service developments to ensure the delivery of evidence-based practice and assist in meeting National and Trust targets/objectives.
