Location: Sweet Affairs Shop (Southall) Ltd
Duties and responsibilities:
* Making cakes as per specification
* Weighing and measuring ingredients for the preparation of different types of cakes
* Kneading dough by hand or using industrial dough mixers
* Baking items in an oven (electric, gas or wood-fired)
* Monitoring oven temperature, humidity, and baking times
* Managing retail cake outlets
* Complying with food hygiene and safety requirements
* Monitoring stocks and ordering new supplies based on production requirements
Skills Required:
* Have full operational knowledge of all recipes, standards, portion sizes and presentation styles
* Have a minimum of 5 years as a baker
Experience:
* experienced and creative with baking, almost like artists, for example, decorating and finishing wedding and birthday cakes at a professional level. At least 5 years of professional cake-making experience in a high-quality ice cream shop or hotel, including experience supervising staff and maintaining high quality and hygiene standards
