An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the Radiopharmacy team at the Sutton site of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. This newly created post supports the expansion of our services and offers a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to develop their skills in aseptic production, clinical trials, quality assurance, and operational management.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of technicians and radiopharmaceutical scientists, receiving hands-on training and support. The role requires working to extremely high standards of accuracy within strict time constraints, with the ability to problem-solve effectively when challenges arise.
Acting as a deputy to the Radiopharmaceutical Scientist (Clinical Trials) you will be a specialist in Clinical Trials and play a key role in supporting the delivery and coordination of Clinical Trials activities, ensuring compliance with GMP and GCP regulations.

* To provide a comprehensive clinical Radiopharmacy service to the Trust and external purchaser.
* To develop key specialist services with the support of the senior team in Radiopharmacy.
* To demonstrate an extremely high standard of accuracy and safety.

Key responsibilities
* Undertake the routine aseptic production of both diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive medicinal products for clinical use, operating within the terms of Standard Operating Procedures.
* Perform a range of in vitro laboratory tests using unsealed source of radioactivity, operating within the terms of Standard Operating Procedures.
* Calculate results from such tests, and enter the confirmed results on to the system for verification by the radiopharmaceutical scientists.
* Maintain suitable levels of both stock and non-stock items in the Radiopharmacy, as defined in Standard Operating Procedures.
* Dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Person specification
* A degree in a relevant scientific discipline or experience.
* Previous experience in Radiopharmacy or Aseptics.
* Flexible approach to working hours – availability to start between 05:00 and 08:30 on a rotational basis.
