The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a vital role in driving the financial performance of our Mission Systems business, supporting programmes across the Sense and Connect area, including ISTAR and Cyber. In this role, you will apply your financial expertise to influence decision‑making, improve reporting processes and strengthen operational understanding. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Build strong, collaborative relationships with cost centre managers and bid teams, providing monthly reporting with detailed variance analysis.
2. Produce and review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and overhead review packs, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
3. Deliver high-quality financial forecasting and support wider business planning activities.
4. Review ongoing projects to ensure accurate trading margins and profit maximisation.
5. Lead monthly performance reviews with operational teams, offering insights, challenge and recommendations.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Finance Business Partner
6. Bringing a proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to simplify complex financial data.
7. Demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills across diverse and technical teams.
8. Applying experience in a Finance Business Partnering role, with the ability to interpret and present financial insights clearly.
9. Showing a track record of driving high performance and continuous improvement.
10. Experience using the IFS finance system (desirable).
Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner
11. Ideally a qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred.
12. A relevant Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is desirable.
