The Role

The role is responsible for support in the delivery of assigned major projects, from initial enquiry to customer delivery. They will provide vital support on a number of high-profile projects with a key focus on overseas markets, specifically the US.

The Person

* Previous experience in program or project management and/or project management qualifications
* Able to interpret technical information, such as drawings, specifications and pricing build-ups would be beneficial
* Able to command respect, trust and momentum for change.
* Experience using project / program management methods and techniques.
* Experience using change management techniques
* Demonstrates a collaborative approach to work
* Ability to fiercely prioritise and can multitask effectively
* Exceptional communication skills; can build relationships with ease
* Has a 'roll your sleeves up' approach to work - will never shy away from challenge
* Respects the views of others – seeking out different opinions where possible

Responsibilities

* Attend handover meetings between key internal functions, ensuring that all team members are fully aware of roles and responsibilities associated with the project.
* Compare tender drawings and specifications against construction issue drawings and specifications and any revisions, highlighting any changes to ensure the recovery of any additional costs.
* Contribute to the production of detailed project programme so that clear indication can be given to entire project team and client regarding specific / key dates relating to design, procurement and delivery.
* Monitor and record progress against target programme – providing clear and concise updates to the Senior PM as required.
* Ensure all delays to the works are notified to the Senior PM. Issue any relevant correspondence as required by the Contract recording the cause of the delay and the effect it will have on the agreed Programme.
* Design management of internal staff setting priorities / producing schedules to establish key items and ensuring this is progressed into planning within the factory, monitoring output and addressing delinquencies

Quality

* Follow established project specific quality procedures.
* Liaise with the main contractor as required with regards to the inspection regime giving them the opportunity to attend any inspections.
* Issue and approval of samples to client.
* Health, Safety, Environmental:
* Take the lead in all matters relating to Health & Safety and minimise any risks.
* Follow established project specific environment procedures including waste transfers or environmental assessments.

Procurement

* Produce procurement schedules for each project detailing lead-in periods, budget values, transfer prices, milestone, deadlines, etc. for both material and labour to ensure the contractual position of SAS is not jeopardised.
* Working with project designers, prepare purchase orders including material take off, scheduling and "better buying" exercises, to allow issue of purchase orders in line with the procurement schedule. Agree delivery schedules and approve subsequent supplier invoices.

Commercial Management

* Support Senior PM in all aspects of cost and value management, cost control, value opportunity, projections, Application for Payments, Final Accounts, etc.
