Head of B2C Sales Sheffield City Centre (fully office-based) Salary: £50,000 DOE plus commission (OTE ~£75,000) UniHomes is looking for a Head of B2C Sales to lead and grow our consumer sales and retentions function and play a key role in supporting students at one of the most important moments in their renting journey.
This role combines strategic ownership with hands‑on leadership.
You’ll have full responsibility for the B2C sales and retentions function, including setting direction, improving performance, and directly line managing the team.
Our B2C sales team is not a traditional call centre.
It is a small, close‑knit group, united by a shared purpose to make renting simpler, clearer and less stressful.
Sales conversations are consultative and supportive, focused on helping renters make confident decisions rather than high‑pressure selling.
Reporting into the Head of Sales, you will take ownership of B2C sales performance end‑to‑end.
You’ll lead the permanent team day‑to‑day, and during peak summer periods you’ll scale the function significantly, often doubling the team with temporary telesales colleagues.
Many of these are students themselves or existing UniHomes customers, and a core part of this role is ensuring they are effectively onboarded, trained and supported to perform well quickly.
You’ll work closely with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Product, helping shape the wider student journey and ensuring B2C sales operates as an integrated, high‑impact function within the business.
This is a visible, influential role with genuine scope to make improvements, build capability over time, and grow a function that matters.
This role is based on standard office hours of Monday to Thursday, 9:00am–5:30pm, and Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
Due to the seasonal nature of the business, occasional weekend working is required, typically once a month and dependent on demand, particularly during peak periods.
Key responsibilities: Own and deliver the B2C sales strategy, aligned to UniHomes’ growth plans and seasonal demand.
Take full accountability for B2C revenue performance, forecasting and reporting.
Provide direct line management to the B2C sales / retentions team, setting clear expectations, priorities and standards.
Lead daily performance management, coaching and development of team members.
Plan and deliver seasonal scale‑up, including recruitment support, onboarding, training and mentoring of temporary telesales colleagues.
Manage performance and quality across both permanent and seasonal team members.
Ensure a consistent, student‑first approach across all B2C sales activity.
Work closely with Marketing to improve lead quality, campaigns and messaging.
Partner with Customer Experience to improve handovers, reduce friction and improve outcomes for renters.
Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to influence improvements that support sales effectiveness.
Provide clear insight, recommendations and performance updates to the Head of Sales.
Skills and experience: Proven experience leading a B2C sales team in a high‑volume or consumer‑focused environment.
Comfortable combining strategy with hands‑on team leadership.
Strong coaching and people‑management capability.
Experience managing performance through busy or changing periods.
Commercially minded, with experience owning or contributing to revenue targets.
Confident working cross‑functionally and influencing wider teams.
Experience in utilities, telecoms, subscriptions or student‑focused markets is desirable but not essential.
