To deliver and support the development of programmes of training required to meet RRN, NICE, Department of Health and Safety Management and Security Services Guidelines on safe and effective restrictive intervention training/moving and handling/BLS/CPR
Main duties of the job
To promote the safe and effective restrictive intervention training/moving and handling training, across Trust servicesTo provide specialist advice, clinical guidance and support regarding restrictive interventions, to the service areas.

This is a great opportunity to work in a team delivering important clinical training to the clinicians in the Trust. The courses delivered by this role involve detailed theory and practice sessions to develop the skills and techniques to safely manage complex interactions with our patients who may have complex support needs and possibly display behaviours that challenge. As such it involves a wide range of training skills and will involve you in the ongoing development of this training.
We are an experienced and supportive team who will support your development into the role and who are passionate about developing these important skills to meet the needs of our patients.

1. Experience and insight into clinical risk assessment and management.
2. National Vocational Qualification Level 3 or equivalent competency based accredited training in health and social care within the fields of mental health and/or learning disability.
Desirable
3. Educational development within a health or social care related subject
4. Experience of assisting within the delivery of restrictive intervention training.

5. Can demonstrate significant experience of clinical practice within secondary care mental health or learning disability services.
6. Can demonstrate significant experience in the prevention and safe management of restrictive intervention within clinical practice
Desirable
7. Can demonstrate experience in the delivery within training programs in the use of restrictive interventions.
8. Can demonstrate experience of participation in the delivery of instructional, educational and training programmes
Knowledge
Essential
9. To be fully literate and able to communicate clearly complex information verbally, in legible writing and electronically in appropriate formats.
10. To have knowledge and understanding of confidential information management.
11. To be able to follow procedures and protocols and effectively apply work systems.
12. To be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the theory and process of restrictive interventions.
13. To have an understanding of the processes of clinical care and the use of restrictive interventions in a clinical situation.
14. To be able to demonstrate an understanding of systems of appraisal, supervision and support and show ability to participate in those systems
