Overview
ACH is a social enterprise and registered social landlord, founded in 2008 by former refugee Fuad Mahamed to meet the urgent integration needs of Bristol’s refugee community. Since then, we have grown into a leading provider of supported and general needs accommodation, now managing over 800 units across Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry, Solihull, South Gloucestershire, and Wolverhampton. We have supported more than 3,000 individuals from refugee backgrounds to move from homelessness to independence. We are committed to not just housing, but empowerment through skills training and personal development. In 2014, we launched Himilo Training Centre Ltd, a profit-for-purpose enterprise delivering life-changing training and employment support. In 2024, we brought Himilo under ACH to refocus our efforts on integration.
Purpose of the job
We have recently published our latest Business Strategy, guiding us up to 2028, which will be our 20th anniversary year. Now, we are seeking an external consultant to help develop a powerful, complementary three-year Business Development Plan that will enable us to generate more sustainable, longer-term and larger funding pots via establishing relationships with philanthropic funders that will allow the organisation to enhance our sustainable wraparound support provision and explore innovative, lived experience-led integration support that will redefine integration. This new strategy will strengthen organisational resilience and enable us to increase our positive impact on the communities we serve.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a values-driven professional to contribute to a mission that matters and help shape the next chapter of one of the UK’s leading refugee support organisations. A good knowledge of Social Outcomes Partnerships (also known as Social Impact Bonds) would be beneficial for potential applicants.
