Job Summary
You'll support people in the community through expert dietetic care, helping them improve health and quality of life. You will be part of a supportive clinical team delivering high‑quality dietetics to primary care services. Your work will help people manage long‑term conditions, make informed food choices and feel confident about their care. You'll also contribute to service improvement, student learning and shared ways of working across health and care teams.
Main duties of the job
* Assess nutritional needs and plan care that meets each person's goals
* Support people and carers to make positive, sustainable dietary changes
* Manage and prioritise your own clinical caseload
* Work with colleagues across services to deliver joined‑up care
* Keep clear, accurate clinical records and contribute to audit and service development
Qualifications
* A degree in Dietetics and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Experience of clinical dietetics in primary care or acute settings, or transferable experience
* Confidence communicating with people from different backgrounds and with varied needs
* Good organisation skills and the ability to work independently with support when needed
* Willingness to learn, reflect on practice and support students and colleagues
Experience
Essential
* Experience of clinical dietetics in acute or primary care settings
* Experience of managing personal dietetic caseload
* Participation in training of other health professionals
* Able to contribute effective multidisciplinary working across agencies
* Able to use weighing equipment safely
Desirable
* Clinical training of dietetic students
* Clinical supervisory skills (basic)
* Clinical audit
* Participation in peer support and clinical supervision
Knowledge
Essential
* Knowledge of general dietetics including diabetes, obesity and nutritional support
* Basic IT skills
* Knowledge of reflective practice
* Competent in the use of enteral tube feeding equipment
* Awareness of student training requirements
Desirable
* Knowledge of audit cycle
