Job Overview
Advanced Clinical Practitioner for Maternal Medicine Band 8A
We are looking for an experienced midwife to clinically lead in the delivery of the dynamic maternal Medicines service. If you have a passion for promoting excellence in complex care, we want to hear from you. The post holder will be expected to have significant input into the implementation of national and local healthcare policy and into developing innovative ways of delivering the service. This will include developing collaborative relationships with other local units both in and outside the Trust.

Main duties of the job
As MW-ACP you will be key to the ongoing development of a significantly well-established maternal medicine services here at St. George's. You will practice clinically 80% of the time according to the service needs and 20% related to education, research and leadership. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including clinical nurse specialists, obstetricians, obstetric physicians, cardiologists, neurologists and rheumatologists.

As MW-ACP you will work collaboratively with our clinicians, managers and service users to ensure there is a robust process in place to manage this complex service and improve patient safety. The post holder will be an experienced leader, educator, and clinical practitioner in maternity care for women with high-risk pregnancies, complicated by complex medical disorders. They will work closely with the Consultant Obstetricians in the delivery of care. The post holder will also work closely with the Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Nursing, Deputy Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Nursing and Senior leadership team to sustain progress on improvements following our CQC report.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
This is an exciting time to join the St George's team – we are investing significantly in our workforce and have recently launched our Digital transformation programme as well as other Quality improvement projects. We work with group colleagues at Epsom and St Helier, exploring opportunities to work across the two Women's health governance teams to share workload e.g. for CNST, offer development opportunities for members of the governance team, provide peer support and spread good practice.

Qualifications And Training
Essential criteria

* Registered Midwife with NMC pin
* MSc in Advanced Practice or equivalent
* Independent or Supplementary non-medical prescriber

Desirable criteria

* Completed portfolio of supervised practice in speciality
* Relevant NHS leadership qualification or working towards

Experience
Essential criteria

* Participation in audits and research
* Extensive experience within Maternal Medicine
* Demonstration of experience in all four pillars of advanced clinical practice
* Experience developing guidelines and protocols

Desirable criteria

* Previous experience in Advance clinical practice role
* Previous experience of service development
* Experience as clinical Leader
