Reference: de62a6a2 To provide support for a 6-year-old little boy who has Autism and Worster Drought Syndrome, which is a type of Cerebral Palsy. Main Duties We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable this little boy to access social and leisure activities in the community. He will require constant supervision as he has no danger awareness, along with support with his social skills and regulation of his behaviour. Guidance and instructions need to be kept brief so that he can process these and more easily understand. Some personal care is also required as he wears pull-up nappies, however, please encourage him to use the toilet as he is making some progress in this area. Person Specification Successful applicants must: · have experience of working with children who have complex needs · be able to respond to any changes in behaviour positively and sensitively · have a high degree of initiative · have a positive understanding and genuine interest in supporting children within their home and communities · be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised · be flexible · have a happy, positive and caring nature · respect confidentiality Hours 6 hours per week during all school holiday weeks.
