FlatPlan is the leading Apple News technology and strategy provider, working with 230+ consumer publishers including The Atlantic, The Athletic, Vox Media and the Premier League. Were a preferred provider to Apple, helping the worlds biggest publishers reach hundreds of millions of readers through Apple News and beyond. Were hiring a Full Stack Engineer to join our engineering team, working US hours to give us coverage across our customer base.
Youll ship features across our platform: integrations with major publishers, our customer dashboard, content parsing pipelines, and proofs of concept that push what Apple News can do. On any given day you might be building a liveblog integration for a global sports brand, debugging a delivery issue during a breaking news story, or prototyping something new with a feature Apple has just released to us.
We expect you to be fluent with AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent) and to use them daily, for writing code, reviewing PRs, triaging bugs and finding ways to ship faster.

FlatPlan is a small, lean team with backgrounds at Stripe, New York Times Company and Apple. Were fully remote but intentional about connection: randomised social 1:1s, Friday socials, a virtual office and optional UK meet-ups twice a year. We share knowledge openly and regularly, and genuinely care about each other.
Our relationship with Apple runs deep: were their preferred provider for Apple News, and following a period of assessment, a direct supplier to Apple.
All qualified candidates will be considered regardless of race, gender, identity, orientation, disability or background.
