Overview
A great opportunity to work with an established and growing care company providing residential live-in support for children and young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. They focus on developing life skills to help children become well-rounded members of the community. Staff provide emotional support and help teach and develop the children for the future.
Responsibilities
* Based in a children's residential home in Wallasey on the Wirral
* Working 2 full days and nights and then having 4 days and nights off, with flexibility
* Working with boys and girls aged 6-16
* Supporting the child with breakfast, getting dressed and to school, washing, school pickups, cooking dinner, bathing and bedtime
* Creating rotas for staff, leading the support team, ensuring care plans are adhered to, and helping the manager run the home
Salary and Benefits
* £15.70 per hour if you have your Level 3, £17.18 if you have Level 5
* £60 per sleep-in
* Additional 16 hours per month paid for paperwork
* 224 hours of holiday per year; extra 2 days after 2 years
* Bank holidays paid at x1.5
* Support network with further training and development
* Private health care
* Claim petrol back for 40p per mile
Qualifications/Experience/Requirements
* Living in or around the Wallasey area on the Wirral
* Full UK driving licence; ideally own vehicle (house car available)
* NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce is essential; Level 5 or being on the course is a major advantage
* Experience working in a residential child care framework
