We are a well-established and growing marine business specialising in retail chandlery, boat repairs, and boatbuilding. Known for our outstanding customer service and top-quality workmanship, we're now looking for a Chandlery Retail Sales & Parts Advisor to join our friendly and fast-paced team.
Whether you're from a marine background or have strong knowledge in parts, engineering, or paints – if you're motivated, organised, and love working with people, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Assisting the Chandlery Manager and wider team in the daily operations of our retail chandlery, stores, and workshop parts counter.
* Providing excellent customer service – in-store, by phone, and via email – to both retail and trade customers.
* Advising on and selling a wide range of marine products, tools, and parts.
* Supporting internal departments including workshop, boatbuilding, and commercial vessels teams.
* Following up customer enquiries and processing sales, orders, refunds, and quotes.
* Managing stock levels, product displays, and participating in promotions and seasonal events.
* Assisting with stock control, including price updates, annual stock take, and day-to-day inventory accuracy.
* Handling payments and maintaining a secure, tidy and attractive retail environment.
* Assisting with fuel pontoon sales and related administration when needed.
* Opening and closing the store (as required) following security procedures.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
* Experience in a parts, retail sales or warehouse environment.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* IT competent (e.g., using EPOS, email, and inventory systems).
* Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Proactive, organised, and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
Desirable:
* Knowledge or experience in the marine trade or personal interest & experience in boating.
* Experience with parts/engineering/paints in a trade environment.
* Forklift operator's certificate.
