About the Role We are seeking a competent and experienced Fire Risk Assessor to conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and high-risk properties in London and surrounding areas. The role involves identifying fire hazards, evaluating existing fire safety measures, and ensuring compliance with current UK fire safety legislation to protect lives and property.
Key Responsibilities Conduct Type 1 to 4 Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with relevant guidance, preferably using PAS 79 methodology. Assess a wide range of properties including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and high-risk premises. Identify fire hazards, evaluate risk levels, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve fire safety. Produce detailed, compliant written reports within agreed timeframes, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Advise clients on fire safety improvements and legislative requirements to ensure ongoing compliance. Ensure adherence to The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, The Fire Safety Act 2021, and The Building Safety Act 2022 where applicable. Liaise effectively with property managers, landlords, housing associations, and contractors to facilitate fire safety improvements. Stay current with evolving fire safety legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements. Support audits, reviews, and quality assurance processes as required to maintain high standards.
Required Qualifications Recognised fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH Fire Safety or Level 3/4 Fire Risk Assessment is essential. Membership or affiliation with professional fire safety bodies (e.g., IFE, IFSM, FRACS) is highly desirable. Full UK driving licence is required.
