Do you have the skills and dedication to provide essential support and liaison services within the Housing Service? If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Traveller Liaison Officer.

The Role
Responsibilities
As the Traveller Liaison Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Housing Service by providing expert liaison and support to the Traveller and Gypsy community. Reporting to the Housing Strategy Development and Review Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

* Acting as the primary point of contact, ensuring their needs and concerns are effectively communicated and addressed.
* Providing advice and support to individuals regarding housing options, rights, and entitlements.
* Working collaboratively with other services and agencies to facilitate access to appropriate support and services.
* Conducting site visits and inspections, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
* Assisting in the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions and opportunities for all.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with Travellers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues facing the Traveller and Gypsy community, including relevant legislation and rights.
* Experience in providing advice and support in a housing-related context.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise effectively.
* Proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
