To assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic, individualised patient care. Carry out all forms of patient care without direct supervision.
You will provide daily clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff in the delivery of evidence-based patient centred care.
You are responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures. Utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, you will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.
Support our speciality clinics, systemic / biologic review clinics, emergency clinics, ward referrals treatment room service, minor operation clinics and phototherapy, across all our service areas; The Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, pendle community hospital, barbara castle way.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to
1. Deliver holistic, person-centred nursing care. Actively engaging with individuals, their families and/or carers and contribute to care planning, by establishing their needs, wishes, preferences and choices and incorporating these into care planning.
Deliver planned interventions without direct supervision delivering care independently in line with an agreed and plan of care
Safely administer medication in accordance with local and national guidance
Non medical prescribing in nurse led clinics V300
Safeguard and protect vulnerable adults and children.
Demonstrate the ability to treat all individuals, carers and colleagues with dignity and respect for their diversity, beliefs, culture, needs, values, privacy and preferences.
Responsible for providing day-to-day supervision, allocation and co-ordination of clinically based teams making the best use of their abilities.
To lead the team whilst assuming responsibility and control of unit management in the absence of the ward/unit manager.
To identify, report and address poor performance issues.
To diffuse challenging behaviour, ensuring that the situation is managed in a sensitive way.
To participate in the recruitment and selection process and in the identification of future workforce requirements.
To ensure own actions promote quality and identify, manage any risks and maintaining optimal standards of care on the ward/unit.
To perform minor skin surgery

Our dermatology service is temporarily been relocated to Pendle community hospital, Barbara castle way, royal Blackburn hospital and Burnley general hospital. We have a dedicated treatment room service and we currently work monday - sunday.
There is opportunity to offer flexible working arrangements where services allow

Essential criteria
* First Level Registered nurse and active NMC registration (Previous post registration experience)
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Experience of working in a Dermatology setting Computer/keyboard skills
* Ability to work autonomously, manage and prioritise own workload
* Knowledge of erostering and allocation
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in service development
* Ability to adapt behavior to changing circumstances
* Ability to communicate articulately and motivate others
* Ability to work a varied shift pattern when required
Desirable criteria
* Managerial experience /knowledge i.e. appraisal skills / sickness absence
* Post registration qualification in the speciality Phototherapy, skin surgery module
* Non medical prescribing qualification
* Can evidence participation in clinical audit and relate this to practice
* Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality
