Process Technician – Grinding

This role is based at their Lincoln manufacturing facility, supporting production through the development, control and optimisation of high-precision grinding processes to ensure consistent, right-first-time manufacture.
The Role
As Process Technician – Grinding, you will be responsible for ensuring grinding processes are robust, stable and capable, supporting production teams and driving improvements in quality, efficiency and process control.
Your Responsibilities Will Include

Developing, implementing and maintaining grinding processes in line with production and quality requirements
*
Providing technical support to production teams to resolve grinding-related issues
*
Optimising wheel selection, speeds, feeds and dressing methods to improve quality and efficiency
*
Supporting new product and process introduction, including trials, validation and documentation
*
Ensuring grinding processes meet customer and quality standards
*
Investigating non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
*
Creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions and control plans
*
Driving continuous improvement in scrap reduction, cycle time and process stability
*
Supporting process capability studies and ongoing monitoring
*
Ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
*
Assisting with operator training and development in grinding best practice
As the Process Technician You Will Bring

Proven experience working with grinding processes in a manufacturing environment
*
Strong understanding of abrasives, dressing techniques, grinding parameters and materials
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*
A methodical, structured approach to problem-solving
*
Good communication and teamwork skills
*
A quality-driven and safety-focused mindset
*
An organised, dependable and forward-thinking attitude
Desirable:
*
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Manufacture or similar
*
Experience with cylindrical, surface or centreless grinding
*
Knowledge of SPC and process capability
*
Background in continuous improvement or NPI
