Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need
About the role
The principal responsibility of the ABS Performance, Insight and Project Officer is to identify, plan and deliver departmental change and improvement activities in line with the overarching departmental strategy. The role will operate as an internal delivery partner to the ABS SLT, and will be required to work closely with members of the SLT, DMT and other stakeholders and SME’s across both forces to drive measurable and sustained improvement in our delivery to our internal partners and the public.
In particular to:
* To support the definition and delivery of a departmental Data, Performance and Insight Strategy.
* To develop and deliver technical solutions to underpin key working practices, drive productivity and efficiency, and ensure oversight of departmental performance.
* To act as departmental subject matter expert on technical and process developments, supporting and contributing to force wide initiatives to exploit new technologies.
* To co-ordinate, reinvigorate and formalise departmental processes in partnership with departmental leads, challenging the status quo with a focus on achieving lean delivery and delivering value for money outcomes.
* To support departmental improvement through introduction and deployment of standardised project and change methodologies.
* To act as a change champion, supporting and enabling colleagues within the department and across the two forces.

In some posts this might include the ad-hoc provision of guidance and informal training of new colleagues.
