We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a nurturing and well-supported 3-bed childrenās home in Lichfield. This is more than just a jobāitās a chance to play a key role in a young personās journey.
š The Role
* Work directly with young people aged 5ā17, supporting them through trauma, emotional difficulties, and daily challenges.
* Deliver high-quality, therapeutic, and trauma-informed care.
* Support and guide newer staff, contributing to a positive, consistent team dynamic.
* Work closely with a Registered Manager (in post since March 2025), who brings fresh leadership and energy to an already settled and committed team.
š Shift Pattern
* 1 on, 2 off (24.5-hour shifts: 7:00 AM ā 7:30 AM the following day)
* Includes 8-hour sleep-in (2ā3 per week)
* Sleep-in pay: £50 flat rate (additional hourly pay kicks in after 1+ hour awake)
* Overtime available ā paid at the same rate
ā ļø We are currently reviewing our rota and shift structure ā flexibility and input are welcomed.
š About the Home
* Ofsted rating: Requires Improvement ā This followed a managerial change. Since then, significant improvements have been made and weāre aiming for āGoodā in our next inspection.
* 3-bed therapeutic setting, offering stability and consistency to young people
* Staffing ratio: 2 staff to 3 young people, plus onācall management support
* Management presence Monday to Friday, with outāofāhours support always available
š” What Weāre Looking For
* Minimum 2 yearsā experience in a residential childrenās home (Ofsted registered)
* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young Peopleās Workforce (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, traumaāinformed practice, and professional boundaries
* A calm, proactive, and teamāoriented approach
