With the product now scaling across new markets and the engineering function ready for its next phase, they're hiring a hands-on Head of Engineering to help lead and shape their technical future.
This is a rare opportunity to lay the technical and cultural foundations from scratch and is perfect for someone who’s been part of a scaling team, be that as a Senior Software Engineer, or a Technical Leader.

Responsibilities:
* Defining and owning the technical strategy, stack and architecture
* Building a lean, focused and collaborative engineering culture from scratch
* Hiring, mentoring and leading a team of engineers across mobile and backend
* Working closely with Product, Design and Leadership to ship impactful features
* Leveraging AI, automation and modern tooling to accelerate output and quality
* Balancing speed, scale and maintainability in a growing mobile B2C platform
Requirements:
* 10+ years in software engineering
* 5+ years leading high-performing teams
* Experience shipping high-quality mobile apps (React Native ideal)
* Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP etc.)
* Hands-on leadership style - you’re still happy to dive into code when needed
* Startup/scale-up experience essential
* Deep understanding of product and user-led development
* Data-driven and pragmatic decision-making
* Track record of building scalable consumer-facing products
* Bonus: Passion for the outdoors, nature, or social impact work
Package
* Up to £100,000 base salary
