Responsibilities
* Supporting the Lead Training Programme Director as required to fulfil the GP School’s agreed functions, including contributing to the annual report, QIP and SAR.
* Ensuring a strong partnership with fellow STPD to allow a succinct approach to Regional Teaching, working collaboratively towards recruiting, training, nurturing and retaining sufficient good doctors for a career in primary care, locally and nationally.
* Overseeing development and management of TPD’s within the Trainee Directorate.
* Leading link TPD for trainees, offering help and support as and when required, including panel outcome meetings, review meetings and remote monitoring via the ePortfolio.
* Leading on the development and implementation of SMART educational plans.
* Attending ARCP Panels as a TPD representative when requested or to delegate appropriately.
* Ensuring designated TPDs deliver additional teaching support.
* Participating in the annual quality meetings, team meetings and TPS meetings when requested and standing in for LTPD when required at meetings/events, such as STC.
Additional Duties
* Organising and delivering the taught course to doctors in GP training.
* Advising and supporting hospital and GP trainers.
* Assisting in recruitment and selection of doctors in GP training.
* Resourcing the assessment systems (ARCP).
* Supporting doctors in difficulty, including early warning, needs assessment and support to trainers of such doctors.
* Training the workforce (GP Educationalists, admin, GP and hospital trainers, educational and clinical supervisors).
