This roleas a band 3 Health care assistant, as a night sitter working 10pm till 07:00amover 5 nights per fortnight
The teamis a countywide team which is centrally based in Droitwich, they visit patientsin their own home and support them in remaining at home and preventingadmission to hospital, also supporting early discharge from hospital.
The post isall worked as unsocial hours hence picking up pay enhancements for all hoursworked which makes this post more attractive. more money for less hours!!

Main duties of the job
As an HCAwith Out of hours as a night sitter you will be allocated a patient to visitand remain in their home over night to support with personal care, mobility,toileting needs, supporting family with palliative/end of life care.
You willwork as a lone worker, with the support of the Countywide night nursing team asrequired.
A fullinduction programme will be arranged from your start date where you will haveto opportunity to work alongside the registered nurses on Nights and gaincompetencies in patient care that may be required when supporting a patient ona night sit. Once you are deemed competent and you are ready you will beassigned patients to attend overnight. There will be regular opportunities forsupervision with your assigned supervisor.
The nightsitting role is rewarding, in being able to provide a patient and their familyindividual and holistic care during the night and assisting the patient inremaining in their preferred place of care and preventing admission tohospital.

Job responsibilities
You will bejoining the Evening and Night team element of one of our dynamic and supportiveNeighbourhood Teams to provide a 24-hour admission avoidance service to thepopulation of South Worcestershire which encompasses both urban and ruralareas.
The successfulcandidate will support nursing staff and deliver independently a high standardof nursing care for patients in their own homes. Ensuring that care providedmaintains the individuals privacy and dignity, values diversity and respectscultural and individual rights and choices.
We are lookingfor candidates with good communication skills, a flexible approach andenthusiasm to work within the team. Youshould be a committed, highly motivated and forward-thinking individual who isa good team player.
The successfulcandidate will also assist the team to develop and achieve team andorganizational objectives. They will also participate in staff meetings andtraining & development activities as necessary to ensure their skills andknowledge are up to date.
Due to thenature of the post the applicant must be able to travel independently and haveaccess to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Whilst a base will beidentified, staff can be asked to work anywhere within the Business Unit orService if necessary.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Level 3 qualification ( NVQ 3, A-level) in Care
2. Or
3. Level 2 qualification ( NVQ2, GCSE Grade A-C) in Care and will be expected to undertake the relevant Level 3 qualification on appointment to post
4. Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
5. I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify y qualifications at point of offer.
