As we continue to evolve,we are looking for a professional, calm, and proactive Self-employed Barber to join our team.
St Andrews Birmingham is a 125 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.
Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled self-employed barber to provide regular hairdressing and grooming services within a mental health hospital setting. Key Responsibilities:
Provide barbering services including haircuts, beard trims, and basic grooming
Work sensitively with patients experiencing a range of mental health conditions
Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive approach at all times
Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained to high hygiene standards
Manage your own appointments and schedule in coordination with ward staff
Adhere to hospital policies, including infection control and safeguarding procedures
Requirements
Fully qualified barber (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred)
Proven experience in barbering
Public liability insurance (essential)
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Patience, empathy, and professionalism
