The Opportunity
We are looking for a confident and community-minded individual to join our team as a Community Engagement and Operations Assistant. This is a dynamic and hands-on role where you will be the face of our centre, ensuring a welcoming environment for all our visitors while assisting in managing the day-to-day operations.
Initially, you will focus on community engagement through social media, bookings, and operational support, with financial administration making up around 20% of your time.
We need someone who is not afraid to be a guardian of our community space with our team, confidently and respectfully upholding our centre's values as a charity to ensure it remains a safe and pleasant place for everyone.
What You'll Be Doing
Community Engagement & Customer Service:
· Act as the first point of contact for the centre via the phone and providing a warm and professional welcome to all in person visitors.
· Grow our community presence by creating engaging content for our social media channels and promoting the centre's activities, café, and room hire services.
· Manage the entire booking process for our facilities, from initial enquiry to invoicing.
Centre Operations & Finance:
· Handle day-to-day financial tasks with Quickbooks, including invoicing, managing payments, and till reconciliations.
· Support the Centre Manager with preparing payroll data and generating financial reports using our accounting software.
· Ensure the reception and office run smoothly with general administrative duties.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:

· Highly Organised: You can juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment, from managing bookings to handling financial tasks.
· Proactive and a Self-Starter: You take initiative and are always looking for ways to improve our centre and its services.
· Experienced in Finance/Accounts: You have a solid foundation in financial administration (at least 2 years of experience is preferred).
· Tech-Savvy:You are proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and are comfortable learning new software for accounting and bookings.

Requirements
· Reliable commute to Waterlooville (PO7 7AY).
· Experience in a customer-facing role.
· Experience in finance or accounts administration.
