A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for a Planning Policy Officer to join their Planning Policy and Land Charges team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a planning environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support and contribute to the preparation and delivery of the Council’s Regulation 19 Local Plan, ensuring compliance with planning legislation, policies, and procedures, while providing professional planning advice to stakeholders and maintaining effective partnerships.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Responding to Regulation 18 consultation responses
• Liaising with partners and stakeholders in respect of the evidence base to support the Regulation 19 Local Plan
• Commissioning and managing studies in accordance with the Council’s procurement procedures
• Producing reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Drafting the Regulation 19 Local Plan and supporting documentation
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning or related subject
• Membership (or eligibility for membership) of the RTPI
• Previous local authority planning policy experience
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong report writing and communication skills
• Proficiency with GIS, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools
• Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering up to £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £25 per hour PAYE).
