The position of Senior Structural Design / Methods Engineer, is accountable for developing and delivering Technical, Design and Methods Solutions to ensure zero harm, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability. This position will exhibit an image of professionalism and technical excellence at all times.
This position has technical leadership accountabilities and decision-making authority to deliver growth objectives. The Senior Methods Engineer reports to the National Technical Services Team Leader, whilst working closely with the NSW/SA Construction Manager & NSW/SA Remedial Manager on Operational and Construction opportunities.
This role can be based in multiple states, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
Ideally you will come from a background with the following:
Structural Strengthening Design on existing structures projects (Designing for Remediation / Repair scopes of works such as CFRP, External PT, Shotcrete & UHPC).
Temporary Works Design (Propping, staging etc)
Methods Engineering (Remediation Design, Materials Specifications etc).
Access System Design (Scaffolding, Suspended decking etc).
Drafting & Modelling (Not essential but advantageous)
This position has the following primary accountabilities:
* Assistance with the development and execution of an annual market and business development plan.
* Building effective working relationships with prospective clients and project partners;
* Planning, preparation and delivery of tenders, bids and proposals for new business;
* Assisting with positive growth of recurring revenue;
* Recruiting, training & managing staff to deliver Technical Services;
* The development, review and management of project plans encompassing all elements of project delivery including OH&S, Quality & Environment;
* Complete, oversee or delegate assigned project tasks in accordance with the Company Management System (CMS);
* Adhere to relevant Australian and Industry standards for design and methods solutions.
* Implement effective cost control, on Technical Services works (ie. Time allocation of hours to be in-line with estimated values)
* Driving innovation and technology development to ensure the organization is recognized as a total solution provider;
* Facilitating training and development of work crews with a view of self-performing works as oppose to subcontracting;
* Participating in industry technical events to raise the profile of the Freyssinet Technical Services Division.
* Appling the principles of safety in design and risk assessment processes with temporary design and works.
Qualifications / Experience:
* Degree in Engineering
* Strong structural design experience
* Remedial or Concrete/ Steel repair & re-strengthening experience
* Advanced Auto CAD
* At least 3-5 years’ working experience in the design industry
* Conversant to all relevant Australian Standards
* Impeccable communication skills written and verbal
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite programs
