About the Role
Location: St George Hospital, Sydney. Employment Type: Part time (14 hours per week). Duration: Permanent contract. Remuneration: Level B position from $127,947 base, Level C position from $155,403 base + Clinical Loading + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading. Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
Role context: The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Teaching & Research role is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Education-Focused academic capacity in the Discipline of Critical Care across the School, fostering excellence in clinical education and supporting the next generation of medical professionals. This role supports the delivery and sustainability of the Discipline of Critical Care teaching program and the Undergraduate Medicine Program Redesign, ensuring high-quality teaching, coordination, and curriculum development across the St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses and the School of Clinical Medicine.
Responsibilities
* Deliver teaching and contribute to curriculum development across undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Coordinate teaching activities and ensure consistent, high-quality educational delivery across campuses.
* Engage in educational leadership, contribute to program design, and support curriculum redesign initiatives.
* Collaborate with colleagues to promote educational excellence and student outcomes.
Qualifications
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Medical qualification registerable in NSW and specialist training, preferably in a Critical Care field.
* Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience in teaching and learning design using various pedagogical approaches at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence, including curriculum design and development at multiple levels.
* Knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning (desirable).
* Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Strong research track record with high-quality, high-impact outcomes and potential for research leadership.
* Active involvement with the profession and/or industry.
* Strong communication, networking abilities, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines.
* Excellent organizational skills.
