Lab Engineer (Infrastructure testing) | West Yorkshire (4 days on site, 1 day remote) | 6 month contract (initially) | Data center
We’re looking for an experienced Lab Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise testing environment based within a data centre setting in West Yorkshire.
This role sits within a dedicated lab function responsible for pre-production validation, solution testing, and technical assurance before enterprise rollout. It’s a technically deep position suited to someone who understands enterprise infrastructure end-to-end.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Operating and maintaining a large enterprise lab environment
* Translating infrastructure requirements into structured test builds
* Designing and executing pre-production test scenarios
* Validating firewall, switching, storage and virtualisation configurations
* Supporting enterprise-level compute, storage and network environments
* Managing workflows and documentation via JIRA
* Collaborating with network, security and infrastructure teams
* Strong VMware experience (enterprise virtualisation environments)
* Deep knowledge of firewall technologies
* Experience working with Juniper networking environments
* Hands-on experience with enterprise switches
* Block storage and enterprise storage technologies
* Compute virtualisation in large-scale environments
* Experience working within enterprise-level organisations
* Strong troubleshooting and technical validation capability
* Experience using JIRA
